Terminology
Deluxe haircut/skin fade
This type of haircut tapers off in length until it reaches skin at the bottom. The shaved part could come up as high as you want but the main descriptor is that it is blended out as you go higher.
Basic haircut
Any typical cut you might get that does not taper out to skin. Usually one guard size on the sides and a larger guard or scissor cut on top.
Buzz cut
One clipper guard all around. This means the top and the sides and back are all the same length. No scissor work
Long Layer cut
Traditionally referred to as a women’s cut, but essentially this means any hair that is shoulder length or longer. No clipper work is usually involved
